That is unusual, and it is the thing to understand about fence work in this town. Medina was incorporated back in 1907, but the city's own site keeps a page of new subdivisions in progress, and a town that is actively building is a town full of fence lines that went in within the last handful of years.

Vinyl repairs and the architectural committee

Two things come up on newer Medina streets that almost never come up on older property.

One is vinyl. A lot of the fence going in on new lots here is vinyl, and vinyl does repair. Instead of swapping individual boards you swap rails, pickets or whole panels, and posts get reset the same way they would on wood. The catch is not labor, it is availability. If your panel style, rail profile and color are still in production, the repair disappears into the run. If the style has been discontinued, the closest match goes where it shows least, and you hear that before anything is ordered rather than after it is standing.
